Located in the southwestern region of Nghe An province, Con Cuong is known as a charming and picturesque countryside area with stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and prosperous ethnic villages. It is also a region where the Thai ethnic minority community resides and engages in agricultural production.
Con Cuong district is blessed with abundant natural beauty, vast and majestic mountains, and notable features such as the Giang River and the Pu Mat National Park. The scenic beauty of rivers and mountains has captivated many, drawing them to admire the harmonious landscapes of this region. However, the local people face challenges, including flooding and hard labor. Many children do not have access to education, and they are unable to explore the realms of science and technology. This is why Onetech visited a familiar school in this area, namely Con Cuong High School.
Con Cuong High School was established in October 1967. Over the course of 55 years of development and growth, the school’s infrastructure has gradually been solidly invested in, and the scale of classrooms has expanded, essentially meeting the teaching and learning requirements. One of the contributing factors to this progress is the support from local businesses operating in the province or from successful “expatriates” who have returned to contribute to improving the learning conditions for the school, providing students with more opportunities to access new knowledge.
One such exemplary business is Onetech Vietnam Manufacturing and Trading Company Limited. This outstanding enterprise is owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, a native of Nghe An who loves his homeland and has harbored dreams of returning to contribute to his hometown since he was young.
In order to fulfill this promise, Onetech Vietnam has made significant contributions by supporting the construction of roads in the area, assisting flood victims, and helping families in need in Con Cuong district. As a part of their regular commitment, on October 17, 2022, under the guidance of the company’s leadership, company representatives visited the school and donated 5 sets of new-generation computers, with the hope of contributing to the students’ access to information technology and knowledge enhancement.
Bui Thu Thuy, a 12th-grade student at Con Cuong High School, shared: “For me, this is an extremely precious opportunity because we are final-year students, preparing for the national high school graduation exam. I promise to study hard, make the most of and fully utilize the benefits of this gift for the right purpose, and to be worthy of the care and support from Onetech Vietnam with our school.”
A representative from the school, Mr. Hoang Nhu Lam, the principal of the school, expressed his gratitude and accepted the gift from the company. Mr. Lam was very happy and extended his thanks to the company, wishing the company continued strength and development. This is a significant source of encouragement, both materially and spiritually, to help the students have better conditions for development and learning at the school.
The visit to the school took place in a solemn and courteous atmosphere, but it was also filled with nostalgia and excitement when meeting former teachers and colleagues. This is a memorable moment for Onetech Vietnam as they “pay homage to their roots” in this journey.
